How to write a
helpful review.

We're building a trustworthy, respectful, and useful space for Dubai renters. Follow these guidelines and your review will be published.

Write about your own experience

My friend said the building was bad.

Second-hand claims do not describe your own tenancy.

Describe roles, protect identities

The person at reception is useless.

Describe what happened without attacking or identifying someone.

Give the next tenant something specific

Maintenance is terrible.

A general verdict gives the next resident little to compare.

Keep it fair

Nobody should ever live here.

Explain the trade-offs rather than speaking for every resident.

Describe the cost clearly

They charge ridiculous fees.

Explain the charge you encountered without making an unsupported accusation.

Keep private details private

Here is my neighbour’s phone number — ask them.

Do not publish another person’s contact or identifying details.

All reviews on Lived are subject to UAE defamation laws. To keep your review compliant and publishable:

  • 01Avoid accusatory terms like "scammer" or "fraud".
  • 02Describe experiences; don't make character judgments.
  • 03Keep feedback factual and based on verifiable experience.
  • 04No claims that could be considered defamatory under UAE law.

  • 01No personal attacks or hostile language.
  • 02Keep feedback professional and constructive.
  • 03Respect privacy — never share personal information about others.
  • 04Use language that focuses on your experience.

Stay relevant

  • 01Only review buildings where you've actually lived.
  • 02Keep your review focused on the rental experience.
  • 03No advertising or self-promotion.

No fraud or manipulation

  • 01No fake reviews or impersonation.
  • 02No incentives in exchange for reviews.
  • 03No attempts to manipulate ratings or feedback.

Moderation & reporting

  • 01Every submission passes through automated moderation and a human review.
  • 02Reviews that pass are auto-approved and published.
  • 03Reviews that need clarification are returned to the author.
  • 04You can flag any published review for us to re-check.
  • 05We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these guidelines.
